Biography

Azin Mohammadi is an Iranian-Canadian multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Montreal and is currently pursing her Master's of Information Studies at Université de Montréal. She has a BFA in Art Education from Concordia University and has worked as an art facilitator with diverse communities and organizations around the city including, The Stroke Club, Anne's House, Le Milieu, and Les Petits As. Mohammadi's academic pursuits are anchored in her desire to make art and information accessible to all individuals.

 

A devout thespian, she has worked with such companies, collectives, and festivals as: Chocolate Moose Theatre Co., Boulouki Theatre, Les Louves, Bread & Puppet, Revolution They Wrote, McGill's Directors Festival, Fringe Theatre Festival, and Z Theatre. Her participation in 33OC Artist Residency (Toffia, Italy) as well as Kammari Artist Residency (Treis Elies, Cyprus) allowed her to further explore feminist driven themes, through the use of various mediums such as, recycled sculpture, multilingual monologue, mixed-media illustration, photography, and playwriting. This year she finished writing her short absurdish play called Trifekta Babe which was workshop in Teesri Duniya's Fireworks Playwrights Program and presented in their Digital Showcase online.

 

She is in the midst of writing a new play and is continuing to develop Trifekta Babe with he intention of producing it by the end of the year.
